Porcelain skin and with a slim figure, the 32-year-old wife of the Russian insurance billionaire Danil Khachaturov is both adored and imitated for her glamorous 1950s babushka style. She is a former model, a star of street-style, a photographer and a promising fashion designer. Sergeenko has made what is perhaps the greatest jump onto the stage. No more than a year after she started her fashion label in Moscow, she had a show in Paris and she was showing right after Chanel. Natalia Vodianova, the Russian supermodel, appeared on her runway. Sergeenko says about her designs “They’re clothes I love to wear but they’re also for every woman who wants to be beautiful.” Sergeenko says that she continues to take inspiration from literature. (She was recently photographed carrying an Olympia Le-Tan clutch in the shape of a book “Anna Karenina”). She said she is proud that so many of her nation are becoming known in the fashion community, and also that so many are hard-working professionals. While her husband, Danil Khachaturov, No. 634 on the list of Forbes billionaires, has supported her business, she said, “I am really happy that we did not just stamp his money”. No one is underestimating her talent and editors have responded quite favorably to the floor-grazing maxi skirts and jackets with peaked shoulders Ms. Sergeenko wears — that is, when she is not wearing other designers’ clothing.
